Fifth Russian Economic Congress

From 11 to 15 September Yekaterinburg hosted the Fifth Russian Economic Congress (New Economic Association (econorus.org), which got together leading researchers from various regions in Russia. The Congress provided a platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and scientific research in the field of economics.

Fifth Russian Economic Congress

Over five days, the congress participants presented their works and made presentations to colleagues. Discussions were held on cutting-edge topics related to economic theory, politics, finance, and management. The Congress has become a wonderful opportunity for specialists from various fields of economics to exchange opinions and views on current challenges and prospects in this area.

Special attention was paid to young scientists. On the last day of the event, young researchers, including graduate and postgraduate students, had the opportunity to present their research and exchange experiences with experienced scientists. This allowed them to receive valuable feedback and recommendations for the further development of their scientific career. One of the participants of the congress was a first-year student of our educational program, Anna Maksimtseva. She presented her joint work with a colleague from the Moscow campus, Daria Tabashnikova, on the topic "Strategies for an optimal way out of the conflict." This work received a diploma as the winner of the section "Microeconomics, Game Theory, and Behavioral Economics".

Here's what Anna herself says about the congress:
"I liked the event organized by the New Economic Association, I would especially like to mention the works presented in the section on young scientists. The set of topics was very wide: from macroeconomic research to work on the digital economy. I especially remember the work presented by Daria Semenova on the neuroeconomical approach to assessing willingness to pay. In this work, an experiment was carried out using special equipment reflecting the processes in the human brain, and conclusions were drawn based on these results and people's opinions about the price of manufactured chocolate. I also received valuable feedback and support from colleagues. I am very glad that I was able to attend this event in person, it greatly contributes to networking and the development of connections that can be relied on in the future."
