Miss and Mister NRU HSE SPB 2018
On the 19th of April, in Colosseum Concert Hall, located in the city center of Saint-Petersburg, annual event “Miss and Mister NRU HSE SPB” was held. Our educational program "Sociology and Social Informatics" was presented by Alena Korytova and Andrei Lomatsky, who earlier became winners of the internal faculty competition. Here we will tell you about the show and the place that sociologists took.
The event began with the announcement of points earned for the sports contest held a few days earlier, in which the Alena and Andrei received 9 points out of 10!
Later, each pair, according to the draw, went on the stage to show their special representing video and a creative play. Students sang, danced, read poetry, played musical instruments. Alena and Andrei, like real sociologists, touched upon an important topic of stereotypes and struggle against them, playing a performance on stage with the group of sociology students from 1st and 2nd year. They finished their scene by singing the song to the guitar, which Andrei played. At that moment, from the sector where our fans sat, balloons flew into the hall, in a matter of seconds they filled all the rows of the Colosseum, flashlights on the phones led the hall. Sociologists managed to create an incredible atmosphere that won the hearts everyone in the hall. And a storm of loudest applause confirmed it.
When all the couples showed their sketches, the judges selected only the top 5, who were fortunate enough to fight further for the title of Miss and Mister NRU HSE SPB 2018. Luckily, Alena and Andrei were also one of them. After that those 5 couples competed in the intellectual contest, answering questions on the following topics: "Geography", "Art", "Politicians VS Vkontakte", "Poetry VS Rap", "Fashion". The next contest was to dance and at the same time answer the questions. A couple of sociologists coped with all the tricky tasks.
While the jury was counting the scores, all the pairs went to the final dance in beautiful costumes and elegant dresses. All the fans supported them with applause and chants. The most exciting part began - summing up the results. All the couples received memorable prizes from sponsors and certificates for participation. The jury awarded only 2 couples - Vice-Miss and Vice-Mister, as well as Miss and Mister NRU HSE SPb 2018.
Sociologists - Alena Korytova and Andrei Lomatsky were awarded the title of Vice-Miss and Vice-Mister HSE of SPb 2018. They worthily presented our educational program and pleased everyone who came to support them. We congratulate Alena and Andrei with such a successful performance!
