New Year Charity Fair
New Year is the time of miracles and magic. Everyone is immersed in this pleasant New Year's Eve buying gifts for the loved ones, beautifully decorating houses, thinking about celebration in details. But the most important thing in this hurry is not to forget that there are some people who need our help and support, and to create, though a small, but a real miracle for them.
For this purpose, on December 14th, 2017, Sociology students studying gathered for the New Year's Fair on Sedova Street for an annual charity event of Higher School of Economics. This year, all the funds collected by common efforts are dedicated to the orphanage "Malyutka" and the charity fund for homeless animals "Lenkin kot."
Charity Fair started early in the morning. Sociologists from all four courses actively participated in it. A lot of locations and unusual entertainment were prepared for visitors. Not far from the entrance there was a gastronomic zone, where homemade cakes, sweet New Year gifts and delicious holiday gingerbread were presented. Then there was the souvenir zone, which had an unprecedented success: students were delighted with New Year's toys, handmade postcards, but the most popular and desirable purchase was the SE-DOVA branded stickers - completely unbelievable fuss broke out around them. Also everyone could get his or her own portrait painted by a talented artist, or draw a mehendi. HSE Board Games Club played table games with students all day long, and the band "Lift na Lunu" accompanied the fair with live music and sold limited tickets for their solo concert. In addition, an auction was held at the fair, and kind Father Frost congratulated sociologists with upcoming holidays and gave the opportunity to take a cool photo with him.
During the day, the New Year's Fair on Sedova collected 21,000 rubles and took the honorable second place in collecting charitable funds among the St. Petersburg campus! Sociologists made a significant contribution to the common cause and received a boost of positive and New Year mood. Thanks to everyone who participated in this event and helped to create a New Year miracle!
