Course Syllabus

Abstract

As an expert in innovation and entrepreneurship in China, during the length of the course I’ll share my experience in Chinese science, technology and innovation ecosystem. Through various reading and video materials, the students will gain insight from a Chinese perspective on how China works in research, innovation, technology commercialization and open innovation; on how to negotiate with different Chinese entities; and on cultural background of the mentality of Chinese business people. The students will also dabble in the official framework of APEC and BRICS structure, and learn some basic understanding on how to work a multilateral project.

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Participation in seminars
    Participation in class 2 - 5’s seminar each contribute to 10 points, in total 40 points.
  • non-blocking Fnal presentation
    Each group that performed in the demo day will receive a score out of 100, judging by their speech performance and comprehensiveness of the pitch deck. 100-90 is very well performed and comprehensive pitch deck, 90-80 is well performed and comprehensive pitch deck with minor insufficiency, 80-70 is performance completed with room to improve, 70-60 is performance completed with significant insufficiency, under 60 is incomplete work.
