Career paths of graduates
My name is Soman Awan, and I have spent over half a decade working in marketing, strategy, and analytics in the Fintech industry. Currently serving as a Sr. Project Manager in an IT company, my journey began at HSE University, where I earned a Master's in Management and Analytics for Business. Building upon my business foundation from Sukkur IBA, the HSE program significantly enhanced my capabilities in data-driven decision-making, marketing, and business intelligence.
Since graduation, I've managed various regional and global projects, from influencer partnerships to full-scale marketing and ad campaigns and market entry strategies. Additionally, part of my work involves conducting comprehensive market research using both primary data (through customer interviews and surveys) and secondary data analysis using tools like Python, RStudio, SQL, Tableau, and Amplitude (to name a few). The analytical skills I developed at HSE have been crucial in advancing my foundation in analytics and optimizing marketing performance and strategic decision-making backed by management and business principles.
What makes HSE's education particularly valuable is its practical approach to business analytics and its versatility in both industry and academia. My academic research on employer branding using text mining, which has already garnered numerous citations, was published in a reputable journal, demonstrating the real-world application of skills in academia - all learned at HSE. This research experience, combined with the program's rigorous training, also enabled me to contribute back to academia as a Visiting Lecturer in Marketing Analytics at HSE.
The master's program was a turning point in my career, elevating my theoretical knowledge and providing hands-on experience needed to navigate both the fast-paced world of marketing and strategy, as well as academic research and teaching. For those considering this program, it offers an excellent blend of business acumen, analytical capabilities, and practical projects, opening doors to diverse career opportunities in both industry and academia.
