What Awaits Guests of HSE SPB Day 2023
This Saturday, on September 16, the Sevkabel Port space located by the Gulf of Finland will host the annual HSE SPB Day. The event will bring together all kinds of people involved in university life: students, graduates, professors, and anyone else who plans to connect their life to HSE University-St Petersburg. The event programme includes open-air dances, a lecture series with invited speakers (including representatives of VK and Sloy), VR quests and much more.
HSE SPB Day is a long-standing campus tradition that kicks off every academic year. First-years can feel the true atmosphere of the university, future students can get to know student organisations, faculties and campus partners better, and parents can share the joy of enrolment with their kids. In short, there is something for everyone.
HSE SPb Day starts at 3:30 pm with a dance DJ set by DJ Pasha Bronx. Guests will be able to get into atmosphere of the event, meet new people, and simply relax.
At 4:30 pm, guests are invited to the official opening ceremony, which will feature greetings from the campus director and partners, wishes from the faculty deans, the initiation ceremony for the first-years, and performances by students and curators.
From 5 pm to 6:40 pm, the Volt space will host a series of public talks from graduates, invited partners and professors of HSE University-St Petersburg. The speakers include:
- Evgeniya Sologubova, project manager at VK
- Natalia Chernysheva, professor at the Department of Sociology and junior research fellow at the Centre for Youth Studies
- Nikita Levtsov, graphic designer, member of the Shchyoloch team and curator of the HSE Art and Design School
- Ekaterina Lubnina, marketing director of the Sloy cafe
The evening will finish with dancing as the sun goes down from 7 pm to 9 pm.
In addition, from 3:30 pm to 7 pm, visitors can check out an open space where student organisations have prepared various activities, from unusual chess games to virtual reality quests.
