HSE University – Saint Petersburg and Russian-Chinese Business Park Sign a Partnership Agreement

The agreement between HSE University – Saint Petersburg and Russian-Chinese Business Park was signed on December 4. Under the agreement, the parties will organize joint events including conferences, forums, exhibitions, round table discussions, on the business-park platforms. HSE students will have the opportunity to do their internships at Russian-Chinese Business-Park (RCBP).

Russian-Chinese Business-Park, the largest platform for cooperation with China in Russia, founded on the basis of Chinese Business Centre opened in Saint Petersburg in 2016. It brings together economic, cultural, scientific, and political interests of the two countries. The Business Park places art exhibitions, Chinese goods shop, separate souvenir shop. In 2018, the Chinese Culture Centre, where the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Saint Petersburg Chinese society takes place, was established on the Russian-Chinese Business Park territory. Chinese Cultural Сentre organizes cultural, scientific, leisure activities, for example, Chinese ink wash painting courses, Chinese tea ceremony, etc. Besides, Chinese Cultural Centre often hosts various presentations, festivals, and concerts.  

The partnership between the parties will develop in several directions:

• Internships for HSE students, PhD students and graduates. Now HSE students have a unique opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture and values, participate in Russian-Chinese Business Park events related to commerce, culture, education, tourism, etc. Internships will boost students' professional skills obtained during the study. 
• Joint scientific and cultural events. The business park is ready to provide its platforms to hold HSE cultural and scientific events and engage HSE students and staff into RCBP activities. An organization of joint cultural events dedicated to the celebration of Chinese New Year is planned in the near future.
• Project activity and provision of applied research topics for students. Russian-Chinese Business Park receives requests from Russian and Chinese companies on a daily basis and keeps numerous projects. In this regard, RCBP is willing to develop and provide different relevant research topics to students as well as involve them in project activities.
