International Partners Week Gathers Partners and Friends

The event was dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of our campus. It incorporated: thoughtful discussions on common issues and challenges in global HE; case studies of best  practices in managing internationalization; insights into the current trends and policies of Russia’s HE development; the signing of several cooperation agreements; visits to different HSE venues, including student accommodation; and of course a great networking and cultural programme. In addition, on May 15, a student fair also took place showcasing our valuable partners to roughly 150 HSE students.

Blessed with wonderful St. Petersburg weather, we were delighted to welcome 65 colleagues and friends representing 43 institutions that reflects the inspiring international ecosystem that we seek to develop in our campus.

We highly value the contribution of our long-standing partners: University College London (UCL), Fudan University, University of Turin, Humboldt University Berlin, DAAD, LUISS University Business School, Vienna University of Economics and Business, University of Bremen, ESSCA School of Management.

We are excited with our evolving new partnerships with University Rome Tor Vergata, King’s College London, University Pompeu Fabra, LSPR, University of Porto, Tilburg University, University of Bergen, EDHEC, Autonomous University of Madrid, Politecnico di Milano, University of Indonesia and Lebanese University. And, of course, we are looking forward to developing fruitful ties with other universities who visited us during the IPW event.

We appreciate the great contribution to IPW that our colleagues from the Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management (QTEM) Consortium provided by offering an additional info-session and training for HSE faculty and students.

Several important agreements were signed during the IPW. Agreements on two dual degrees in International Business and Management Studies and Political Science and World Politics were signed between HSE University – Saint Petersburg and University Rome Tor Vergata, escalating the cooperation between the two institutions to new horizons. The agreements on student and faculty exchange in History, Business, Management & Economics deepen the ties of our campus with University of Turin. An exchange agreement between LUISS Business School and HSE Saint-Petersburg School of Economics and Management contributes to further strengthening of the school-level partnership profile.

A special thank-you word is said to our recruitment agents whose participation in IPW made the event even more colorful and allowed further beneficial matchmaking between our guests.

The closing highlight of the event was the keynote speech by Edwin van Rest, Founder and Chief Opportunities Officer of StudyPortals. In his “Talk digital to me!” speech Mr. van Rest focused on the emerging trends and gave us several creative insights for the era of digital internationalization characterized by the growing demand for online and distant learning.

Luckily enough, the welcoming city of Saint-Petersburg complimented our event with incredibly beautiful weather, allowing IPW guests to fully enjoy the city and the campus, and culminating with beautiful sunsets to accompany the gala dinner.

We thank our partners and friends for sharing these wonderful days with us! See you again in Saint-Petersburg!
