The American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business was founded in 1916 by a group of seventeen American universities and colleges, including Harvard University, The University of Chicago, NYU and many other prominent universities. AACSB requires universities to go through an accreditation process, which rigorously assesses quality of the university. Achieving AACSB accreditation may typically take between 3 to 7 years to complete. Less than 5% of the 15,000+ business programs worldwide have received AACSB accreditation, making it a very elite group.
