Another Summer School season has come to an end at HSE University St. Petersburg. Or hasn’t it?
Addie Bacon, an American student from Smith College, who studies the Russian language and literature in the US. She had spent six months at HSE University St. Petersburg attending ‘Russian, Eurasian, and Post-Soviet Studies Programme’. Before she left to go back home we asked her a few questions about her experience studying and living in Russia.

Charlie Song is a student who spent a semester at HSE University - St. Petersburg. The courses that he studied related to Russian, Eurasian and Post- Soviet Studies including history, culture, literature, arts, society and politics. Charlie has shared his impressions about Russian culture and his life in St.Petersburg.
From January 5 to 20 2018, HSE in St. Petersburg for the second time hosted a special J-Term programme for American students from Smith and Amherst Colleges, as well as the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
For the second year now HSE Saint-Petersburg has been gladly welcoming students from UCL School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies, coming to improve their language skills and immerse themselves into the mysterious Russian culture. Last weekend this year’s group of UCL SSEES students have visited Velikiy Novgorod – the cradle of Russian statehood and a real architectural gem.
