Frequently Asked Questions

What courses will students take at HSE St. Petersburg?

All questions concerning courses contents or some other essential questions about the programme design should be addressed to the Academic Director of the relevant HSE degree programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean “official translator” and how should be arranged the official translation of the student`s documents (passport, bachelor`s degree certificate/ high school certificate)?

Translation into Russian by a certified translator means notarized translation: it is made by a professional translator and the signature of the translator indicated on the translation is notary certified. You may be assisted by a translator in your country of residence and notary who can provide such service in your city (for example, Translation Centre). The translation can also be done in the Russian consulate in your country of residence.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will the studies be arranged in the first semester 2022-2023 at HSE St Petersburg?

The double degree programme students will have an opportunity to study online at HSE St Petersburg in the first semester 2022-2023 because we understand that even if HSE will start the year in face-to-face mode, many international students will not be able to arrive in time.

Unfortunately, the final decision about how the year will start is up to the Russian Government based on the epidemiological situation in Russia. At this moment (as at the date of July 20, 2022) we don’t have an opportunity to prepare a visa invitation because the visa issuing is suspended in Russia now. However, all the students who will not arrive in September will be able to start classes online. So, students will be able to arrive right after the borders are re-opened and the situation comes back to normal. So, nothing should affect students` opportunity to study online at HSE St Petersburg in the first semester 2022-2023 even if the first semester starts in the face-to-face mode for those students who live in St Petersburg and even if Russia opens the boarders for all foreigners.

So, in any case, students will have the opportunity to study online at HSE St. Petersburg in the first semester 2022-2023 from their home countries to continue the studies offline in the second semester 2022-2023 to be eligible for the degree at HSE St Petersburg without necessarily traveling there during the high-risk time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will the online studies be arranged in the first semester 2022-2023 at HSE St Petersburg?

If students study at HSE St Petersburg online in the first semester 2022-2023, they will take all HSE courses that are usually delivered within the relevant HSE degree programme during this period, but from their home countries in the online mode, and will continue the studies offline in the second semester 2022-2023 to be eligible for the degree at HSE St Petersburg. The online delivery will be arranged by means of Zoom, MS Teams and other tools. Please find more informantion here.
