New Academic Publication of RepLab: Methodological Guide on Service-Learning

We are pleased to present a new publication authored by Magdalena A. Gaete-Sepúlveda and Olga Dymarskaya, from the Reputation Management in Education Laboratory (RepLab), HSE University – St. Petersburg.

The monography "SERVICE LEARNING AND THE SOCIAL MISSION OF THE UNIVERSITY: Introducing the practice and working with social partners. A methodological guide for teachers" is dedicated to the methodological integration of service-learning into university curricula.

As a pedagogical practice, service-learning traces its roots to the philosophy of John Dewey (1859–1952) and resonates with the tradition of Anton S. Makarenko’s “people’s pedagogy.” In Russia, this approach has emerged only recently, yet it has advanced rapidly from pilot initiatives to a stage of institutional recognition. HSE University – St. Petersburg has been among the pioneers in this process, contributing to the systematic dissemination of the methodology.

The guide is addressed to university faculty, academic methodologists, representatives of socially oriented companies, NGOs, and other stakeholders engaged in promoting social responsibility and university–community cooperation.
