HSE University Negotiates to Launch Joint Projects with Leading Universities in Brazil
In the framework of the academic mission to Latin America, HSE University-St Petersburg has negotiated to launch joint projects with leading Brazilian universities. Thus, with the University of São Paulo, the first in the QS ranking among Brazilian universities, HSE plans to carry out joint research aimed at supporting biodiversity, developing biotechnologies and solving ecological and social issues. The project also involves students and staff mobility for mutual exchange of knowledge and experience.
During the academic mission, HSE University-St Petersburg also visited the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) where parties agreed to launch the BRICS Summer School. Students and professors will take part in joint webinars and lectures on the banking system, finance and taxes. The project will also involve joint supervision of term papers and theses. Soon, UNICAMP will hold an online seminar for the students of the School of Economics and Management attending the course 'Digital Business Transformation' where the university will share its experience in implementing projects with local businesses as well as their value and results.
One of the important results was the signing of the agreement in Belo Horizonte with the leading business school in Brazil—Fundação Dom Cabral (FDC). In the framework of the agreement, the parties have negotiated to provide students and professors with access to the platform Global Seminars where they will be able to hold lectures and webinars on hot topics. Besides, HSE students will be able to attend online courses by FDC, take part in exchange programmes, and participate in joint summer and winter schools which are to start next year.

Symbolically, our visit to Brazil, which will be the chair of the BRICS next year, coincided with the past BRICS summit in Kazan. Cooperation with Brazilian universities is important for HSE University, it opens new opportunities. We see an increasing interest in Russia and our universities from the Brazilian side. Our students also show an interest in the way Brazilian markets work and opportunities for developing joint business projects.
