International Advisory Board of SEM HSE
On September 28, as part of the International Conference Analytics for Management and Economics, the International Advisory Board of the St Petersburg School of Economics and Management convened to discuss the School's current and future plans for development.
The Council is comprised of international experts with experience overseeing faculties and business schools and managing areas such as education, research, personnel policy, infrastructure development, international accreditation, and dissemination of best knowledge and practices.
This year's meeting was attended by: Bruno van Pottelsberg, Dean of the Brussels School of Economics and Management; Christopher Herry, Dean of St. Anthony's College, Oxford University; Julio Urgel, Professor of Corporate Finance at the IE business School and EFMD Senior Advisor; Jacques-Francois Thiess, Professor of Operations and Econometrics at the Walloon Catholic University of Louvain and Professor at the National School of Bridges and Roads (Paris, France); and Slavo Radosevic, doctor of science, Professor of Innovation Studies at the School of Slavic and Eastern European studies at UCL University London.
As part of the event, SEM Dean Elena Rogova presented a report on the current development of the school, improvements, and results of the implementation of the IAB recommendations.
Deputy Dean of Research and Academic Development of the School of Economics and Management, Elena Shakina, spoke about problems and areas of potential in research.
During the meeting, the Council members appointed Bruno van Pottelsberg as the next International Council Chairman. He is currently the Dean of the Brussels School of Economics and Management. The participants of the Council discussed ideas and put forward a number of recommendations to increase the faculty's international profile.
