HSE University – St Petersburg Will Host Students EURO CUP 2020
The Student Sports Club and the Department for Physical Education received a grant from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs to host the Students EURO CUP 2020, which will coincide with the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship.
Next summer, the UEFA Euro 2020 will be held simultaneously in 12 European countries. Among the hosting cities is St. Petersburg – the only city in Russia to be a host in the championship. In order to support the city and help students become a part of this sports event, the Higher School of Economics in St. Petersburg will welcome participants to the Students EURO CUP 2020, an international student sports festival.
Teams from the best universities in Europe will come to St Petersburg to compete against each other in the Students EURO CUP 2020. Students representing over 200 student sports organisations in Russia and Europe are expected to participate in the festival. In preparation for the event, activists will participate in training seminars, webinars, and conferences on the development of student sports to gain valuable skills in the field of sports management. In addition to traditional football, participants will have the opportunity to compete in cyber- and panna football tournaments.
