International Business and Management Studies student from Hungary speaks on how is it to develop your skills with HSE, to live in St. Petersburg coping with sombre part of the year, as well as to pick the university of your dream.
My name is Kristof Homoki. I am from Budapest, Hungary. I am studying Management at HSE University St. Petersburg since 2015.
I decided to go to St. Petersburg because I was keen on Russian culture, cuisine, and leader's style from the very childhood. In the university choice, it was important for me to continue studying at a place that provides internationally accepted training, and up-to-date study materials and teaching methods.
When I first arrived, my skills in Russian were far from perfect but, thanks to my new mates and other students, I managed to get by in a couple of months. The weather conditions were my biggest challenge. My country's climate is much softer than the local one, but the ambient city full of theaters, cinemas, and cultural events really helped me not to notice any cold winter days.
If somebody asks me what I like most about HSE St. Petersburg, it would take hours to answer this question. From the time I arrived, I have had a lot of amazing experiences. However, if to highlight the best moments over the past three years, it will be, first nad foremost, the educational process, the seminars and group presentations, when I felt self-development everyday. And secondly, the university's social life that never leaves alone.
To anyone who is looking for the university I highly recommend picking HSE St. Petersburg.
