HSE Saint-Petersburg Will Teach PMI Project Management
Higher School of Economics in Saint-Petersburg is now recognized as a registered education provider (R.E.P.) of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Project Management Institute, PMI is a worldwide non-profit professional organization in the field of project management.
PMI develops standards, conducts research, educates, publishes articles, journals and books, enhances cooperation opportunities in regional branches, holds conferences and training seminars, and accredits in project management.
PMI has recruited volunteers to create industry standards, such as 'A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®). PMBOK® has been recognized by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). In 2012 the project management processes from the PMBOK Guide 4th edition were adapted to ISO.
Nowadays, PMI is the largest international organization creating standards for project management and certifying project and program managers.
The status of registered education provider of PMI enables Higher School of Economics to hold trainings and seminars on project management according to PMI standards and assign PDU (Personal Development Units) to the participants. The participants will be able to use PDU as points while undergoing the process of certification as Project Manager Professionals (PMP).
To obtain this status, the HSE underwent a complex multi-stage accreditation during nine months, which included HSE's assessment of PMI compliance, the accreditation of teachers and a training program.
