Career paths of graduates: Yasmine Mnassri from Tunisia

Hello everyone! This is Yasmine Mnassri from Tunisia, and I am glad to share with you my previous experience as a master student at the Higher School of Economics University in the program of Management and Analytics for Business (2020-2022).

Career paths of graduates: Yasmine Mnassri from Tunisia

First thing first, I want to give an insight about my decision to take this course. My bachelor's was actually in civil engineering, and I had a mathematical background. But I wanted to change direction towards management and coaching. From there, I wanted first a program that blended management and analytics to still have some connection to my previous academic experience; here the program of Management and Analytics for Business came to light.

That was the best choice I had. Currently I am pursuing a PhD, and I can see the fruits of my master's at HSE. When I started that program, I had no experience or knowledge in research that is different than civil engineering reporting. Now, thanks to the courses, internship, projects, and materials I gained during the designated course, I am managing my PhD with much ease.
During the program we got very intensive research training mastering and putting into practice different tools namely RStudio, Excel, Python, and Miro.

That is from an academic point of view, but now I am also working as a sales manager. For sure the analytics training and the versatility of the master at HSE helped me not only secure this job but also excel in it. What stands out for the program is its practical side. We had projects with real-life cases from companies. For example, I had a project within a team with the company Somin.ai. Moreover, we had a project management project, for which I chose the blockchain case. Moreover, we had a strategic management course for two semesters from a guest teacher who is a leader in this field, which was valuable.

Similarly, since I chose the people analytics track, this actually came in handy for me during my sales manager work, as I actually helped with recruiting colleagues and coaches also. Moreover, during this track I got hands-on experience in decision-making and analysis based on data and analytics. Also, I got to understand the people dynamics at the company, which helped me with my interactions either with clients or coaches or my colleagues at work. In this track, the courses were meticulously chosen to be part of the program and highly helpful, but for me, the ones that stand out the most are the courses on People Analytics and Staffing Analytics Overview.

To sum it up, the master of management and analytics for business gave me a very extensive research base, understanding of management and company dynamics, analytical skills, versatility in dealing with pressure times and managing priorities, and reinforced my ability of fast learning even more. As a result, this made the program a milestone for my academic and career paths afterward.

I hope my insights can help whoever is considering this program make an informed decision. The program was an absolute win for me, and I wish the best for everyone considering it, whether to get the best of the program and finish it with excellence or for the roads afterwards.
