Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course is aimed at students acquiring basic knowledge and competences of the modern Portuguese language, including phonetics, graphics, normative grammar and vocabulary in the amount provided by the course.

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Modular tests
    Modular test as a form of the ongoing assessment, which is carried out once per modular and includes reading task (2-4 module: 30 minutes), listening task (2-4 module: 10 minutes) and writing task (2-4 module: 35 minutes). The total duration of the modular test is 80 minutes.
  • non-blocking Class participation
    It includes ongoing assessment of the 4 following aspects: Reading (A reading task consists of a text and the following questions. The assessment duration is approximately 20 minutes.) Listening (Listening as a form of the ongoing assessment is recommended to take place at least once per topic. The listening task includes listening to an audio recording or watching a video recording and completing the following task. Duration of the audio recording is approximately 10 minutes, the total assessment duration is no more than 15 minutes) Speaking (Speaking includes answers to the questions of the examiner, a dialogue between students based on a card (duration 2-3 minutes, at least 3 times per modular), a detailed answer to the question (duration of the answer is up to 2 minutes, at least three questions).) Writing (The student submits writing tasks (informal letters)).
  • non-blocking Final exam
    The exam is conducted orally (a survey based on the course materials).
