Youth News, May 3-9

A three-day conflict between the citizens and the police became the main event of the week. It started on May 6 in Moscow with the March of the Millions rally. A 38-minute video on YouTube illustrates the tactics of the police who snatched people out of the crowd, beat them and dragged them into paddy wagons. The organizers of the march were arrested and later released – statements by officials and representatives of the opposition were circulated in the media that declared Sergei Udaltsov and Alexey Navalny responsible for the unrest. On May 7 and 8, more Moscow citizens were arrested. Big City published Svetlana Reiter's report on the night vigils of the rally participants.

The boy was released, but his relationship with the family has not improved.
