On March 22, the Department held the second meeting of the Academic seminar on social and political theory.

M. B. Khomyakov (Ph. D., Professor of the HSE Department of Political Science in St. Petersburg) made a report “Ideas for the theory of tolerance”. The debater was V. L. Kaplun (Ph. D., Associate Professor of the HSE Department of Sociology in St. Petersburg). The seminar was led by S. V. Akopov (Ph. D., Professor of the HSE Department of Political Science in St. Petersburg). The seminar participants discussed both the theoretical problems of the concept of tolerance and the problems associated with its use in social practice.
