The workshop on 'Health Economics in Russia: past, present and future?' was hosted by the International Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy (CHEMP) of HSE Saint Petersburg on March 21, 2016 within the International Spatial Development Forum.
In January 2016, the first official bachelors course in Health Economics began at the St. Petersburg campus of HSE. The course provides an extensive introduction to the main themes of contemporary Health Economics, will run for 9 weeks and has almost 50 Economics finalists enrolled on it.
The Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy held it’s first ‘work in progress’ seminar on December 23rd 2015. The seminar addressed one of the main challenges facing both developed and emerging economies – namely, that of ageing populations. Three promising working papers were presented covering the interaction between mental health and social support; the role of social capital in healthy ageing; and the problems of using subjective health measures in health related research.

Paul Kind, International Research Advisor at the International Centre for Health Economics, Management, and Policy will take part in the plenary session of the 18th Annual European Congress of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research that will be held on November 7-11, 2015 in Milan, Italy.
The new HSE International Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy (CHEMP) is seeking to recruit a number of Masters (or advanced Bachelors) students to work or undertake study/research experience within the activities of the research centre.
