HSE University-St Petersburg Launches Indian Students Week
HSE University-St Petersburg launches a week-long educational programme for students from the leading Indian universities.
The programme of International Students Week featured lectures by professors of four HSE schools. The students will take courses in machine learning, Data Science, e-policy and creating embossed prints. The delegation will attend workshops in all the campus buildings and conduct field research on the territory of New Holland. The delegation comprises representatives from IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, UPES, IIM Indore, Chitkara University, Subharti University, Lovely Professional University and other universities.

India is one of the priority areas of international activities at HSE University-St Petersburg. Almost two years of intensive work, several trips, productive negotiations and consultations led to this extensive project—the first group of 50 students came to participate in our programme. In total, there were more than 500 applications from almost all Indian regions. The students who really wanted to study at HSE University came to us. They will attend not only educational courses in various tracks but also exciting cultural programme which will allow them to get to know Russian and St Petersburg traditions.
The official opening ceremony featured welcoming speeches by Anna Rykova, the first Secretary of the Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St Petersburg, and Vladimir Gaidei, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education in St Petersburg. Students from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Ghana, Mexico and Nigeria shared their impressions of studying at HSE University-St Petersburg, and the student teams 'HSE Dance' and 'HSE Music' performed musical and dance routines.
