HSE University Improves Its Position in Three University Missions Ranking
HSE University has risen 17 places in the list of top world universities and remains among the top five Russian universities in the Three University Missions Moscow International University Ranking (MosIUR).
In 2023, the number of universities included in the MosIUR global ranking increased from 1,800 to 2,000. This makes the ranking the most representative in the world in terms of its scope. The list features universities from 112 countries, including 154 Russian universities. HSE University has ranked 4th among Russian universities since the ranking was first published, and this year ranks 125th worldwide. The university maintains its high positions in the ranking despite constantly growing competition.
Previously in 2023, HSE University became the leader in four MosIUR national subject rankings: Economics, Sociology, Management, and Psychology. The university also placed in the top three of the ‘medal table’ by number of subjects to appear in rankings, and also maintained its leading positions in the majority of the 15 subject areas.
In addition to assessing traditional qualities such as research and education, MosIUR also evaluates each university’s significance to society, which is highly valued by international academic experts in university rankings.
The ranking was compiled based on objective criteria and without conducting reputation surveys. Data sources included information from official university websites, national authorities, and independent international sources: the Class Central online course aggregator, the Open Education (Russia) and icourse163.org (China) mass education platforms, the Google, Yandex, and Baidu search engines, social media, and the websites of international student competitions.
