HSE University Improves Its Academic Reputation in QS Ranking
HSE University has progressed on the QS World University Rankings in terms of academic reputation, having improved its position by over 340 points in six years. In the general ranking, HSE University places 305th and ranks among the Q1 of global universities.
This year, HSE University is fourth among Russian universities by academic reputation. This indicator is calculated from a survey of over 130,000 academics around the world. Usually, it takes decades or even centuries to build such a reputation, but HSE University has managed to build its brand in less than 30 years, so that it stands next to universities with a long history. In addition, HSE University is 65th in the world in terms of its student/faculty ratio.
QS World University Rankings are published annually by a British company, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). This year it includes 1,300 universities from around the world, which is 145 more than last year. The ranking’s methodology is based on the following indicators:
academic reputation (40%);
employer reputation (10%);
international faculty ratio (5%);
international student ratio (5%);
faculty/student ratio (20%);
citations per faculty (20%).
Reputation indicators are based on the results of surveys carried out with academic experts and employers.
