Georgiy Poltavchenko visited the Higher School of Economics in Saint-Petersburg
On September 27 governor of Saint-Petersburg Georgiy Poltavchenko has paid his first visit to the Higher School of Economics. The meeting took place at the School of Economics and Management – the biggest campus of HSE Saint Petersburg, accommodating five research laboratories of the university.
HSE Saint-Petersburg is actively cooperating with Saint-Petersburg city administration. The university took place in city’s economic policy development as well as in monitoring the innovation system. Furthemore, the HSE implemented a number of research projects, targeted at development of small and medium enterprises.
During the visit, Georgiy Poltavchenko was acquainted with the scientific and technical resources of the university, as well as studies, conducted by the academic staff. The main digitalization enthusiast of the HSE, Daniel A. Aleksandrov, presented the recent developments in the field of digital technology, used in social studies and big data analysis.
Ekaterina Aleksandrova, researcher of the International Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy outlined the perspectives of investing in healthy lifestyle.
The academic supervisor of the Scientific Laboratory of Logistics Research Valery Lukinskiy introduced the governor to the relevant research in the field of logistics.
Georgiy Poltavchenko has also visited the student canteen and the café Granola, established by the alumni of the ‘Management’ educational program Pavel Kalinsky.
The governor has also received the access to the HSE university library, named after Egor Gaidar. The access is only available for the students and stuff of the university. It enables them to use the electronic library and work with both Russian and foreign books and periodicals online.
