The Academic Supervisor of the Master's Programme “Comparative Politics of Eurasia” will take part in the implementation of the international project EUSHIFT (Jean Monnet Programme)
The Academic Supervisor of the Master's Programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia', Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Oleg Korneev will take part in the implementation of the Jean Monnet project 'Shifts in the EU Area of Freedom, Security and Justice: Multi-Dimensional Analysis' (EUSHIFT).
The EUSHIFT project will be implemented at Lobachevsky University in 2020-2023. It was supported by the European Commission among 23 successful Russian projects in 2020 and is funded under the Jean Monnet Programme. The interdisciplinary project EUSHIFT is dedicated to teaching of and research on law and policy in one of the most dynamically developing areas within the European Union (EU). The development of the EU Area of freedom, security and justice aims at countering transnational security threats (terrorism, organized crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, irregular migration), protecting the EU external borders, cooperation between police and judicial institutions, protecting human rights, and data protection. One of the most important dimensions of this area is the EU’s interaction with third countries, including Russia.
Oleg Korneev is a member of the EUSHIFT project working group. This will allow to use the project for the development of the Master's programme 'Comparative Politics of Eurasia'. Students of the Programme will be able to attend regular project events (lectures, seminars, round tables) involving leading experts on the EU Area of freedom, security and justice from universities and research centres in Russia and the European Union.
