Course Syllabus

Abstract

This course will help students to understand organizations and organizational behavior with the reliance on various institutional and organizational theories. Topics covered: introduction to organizations, decision-making, coalition formation, organizational learning, organizational culture, resources, networks, institutional theory, the survival of organizations. The course is “blended”, that is, it is based on the online course that students are obliged to complete by the end of the course.     The exam is carried out in a written form (test). The exam is conducted on the LMS HSE platform (https://lms.hse.ru). Students must connect to the exam according to the official schedule of the HSE. The student's computer must satisfy the following requirements: access to the Internet, the presence of an input device of the type “mouse”, the presence of an output device of the type “screen”, connection to the electric power supply. To participate in the exam, the student is required to login in the LMS HSE using his or her account. During the exam, students are forbidden to use tips or engage in deliberative discussions. A short-term communication disruption during the exam is considered a communication disruption of less than five minutes. A long-term communication disruption during an exam is considered a violation of fifteen minutes or more. In case of a long-term communication disruption, the student cannot continue to participate in the exam. The retake procedure involves the use of complicated tasks. Экзамен проводится в письменной форме (тест). Экзамен проводится на платформе LMS HSE (https://lms.hse.ru). К экзамену необходимо подключиться согласно официальному расписанию НИУ ВШЭ. Компьютер студента должен удовлетворять требованиям: наличие доступа к сети Интернет, наличие устройства ввода типа «мышь», наличие устройства вывода типа «экран», подключение к сети электропитания. Для участия в экзамене студент обязан авторизоваться на платформе LMS HSE, используя свой аккаунт. Во время экзамена студентам запрещено пользоваться подсказками, вступать в совещательные дискуссии. Кратковременным нарушением связи во время экзамена считается нарушение связи менее пяти минут. Долговременным нарушением связи во время экзамена считается нарушение пятнадцать минут и более. При долговременном нарушении связи студент не может продолжить участие в экзамене. Процедура пересдачи подразумевает использование усложненных заданий.
