Admission based on the entrance exams (tests results)
Once your application has been reviewed by the examination committee, the status in your account will be updated as follows:
1. Recommended for admission to a state-funded place (a scholarship).
A final decision on admission to state-funded places shall be published on the ‘For International Applicants’ page in your personal account, once all respective applications have been approved by the HSE Student Selection Committee.
Required Documents for Scholarship Candidates
1. ORIGINAL Scholarship Application completed in English with a picture in the upper right corner (3×4 cm, colour or black and white on matte paper) signed by the applicant. You can download the form and guidelines in the personal account-section Offer of Admission.
2. Scanned copy of your degree certificate as well as related notarized Russian translations.
If you have not yet received your degree certificate at the time of submission, you can send a certificate with grades and subjects that reflects the entire period that you have studied at that institution or a scanned copy of your grade book. Documents must be translated and certified by an official notary/translation service.
3. Standard general medical certificate COPY confirming that you are medically fit. Document must be translated and certified by an official notary/translation service.
4. Medical certificate COPY indicating HIV test results. Document must be translated and certified by an official notary/translation service.
5. Passport COPY you will use when applying for your Russian visa. Document must be translated and certified by an official notary/translation service.
Candidates must submit their documents in the section Offer of Admission within 40 days from the decision in the personal account. Candidates who received a decision after the 1st of May 2021 must upload documents not later than the 1st of June, 2021.
2. Recommended for admission to a fee-paying place;
Depending on your entrance tests score (in total for both exams) of your application, you may become eligible for a tuition fee waiver:
- 140-149 points — 25% of the annual tuition fee waiver;
- 150-169 points — 50% of the annual tuition fee waiver;
- above 170 points —70% of the annual tuition fee waiver.
Required Documents for Fee-Paying Candidates
Passport COPY you will use when applying for your Russian visa. Document must be translated and certified by an official notary/translation service.
IMPORTANT: if you apply for an online programme, for making a contract with HSE University you may provide a translation of the passport without notarization.

3. Rejected.
If the first priority programme rejects your application, it will be automatically forwarded to the second priority programme. If the second priority programme rejects your application, unfortunately, we are unable to admit you to our undergraduate studies this year.

If your status has been changed to ‘recommended for admission to a state-funded place’ or ‘recommended for admission to a fee-paying place’, please proceed to STEP 6.
