In February 2017, professor of the Department of Applied Political Science (HSE – St. Petersburg) Sergei Akopov was an invited professor at the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) Aix-Provence (France).

Russian-Swedish Cooperation in Local Administration Studies


On December 12-13 a research round table ‘Citizen Participation in Municipal Management and Civil Society’ was held in Malmö, Sweden. Lecturers from the HSE’s Department of Political Science presented their reports and discussed future cooperation with their colleagues at the event.

On March 16-20 Mikhail Antonov, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory and History of Law and State and Sergei Akopov, Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science delivered a series of lectures in English and French on legal and political system of the Russian Federation during the conference orgaznised by HSE partner university Science Po Aix-en-Provence.

On October 2, 2014 Philipp Casula, Senior Research Fellow of the History and Middle East Studies Department at the University of Zurich delivered a lecture on ‘Contemporary Political Populism in Europe’. The event was organized by the Department of Applied Political Science.
