Historians of the HSE SPb in Germany, France and Austria

Students of the undergraduate history program, trainee researchers and members of the scientific and educational group "Applied GIS in Humanities" Yana Kitaeva, Alexander Kuchinsky, Valentina Smirnova, Alexandra Egorenko, Oleg Kudinov and Sergey Mikhailov and senior lecturer of the History Department and a researcher at the Center for Historical Studies Ivan Sablin visited the University of Heidelberg.

This Thursday the member of the project: ‘Applied GIS in Humanities: Linguistics, History, Project Work’, Alexandrov Pavel, presented her own research. The presentation was called “Administrative-territorial zoning of the Russian Federation for the period 1918-1938”.

Ivan Sablin, Research Fellow at the Centre for Historical Research and the head of research-study group "Applied GIS in Humanities" (HSE in Saint Petersburg) presented reports dedicated to cultural and political history of North Eurasia in Munich and Regensburg.

On 23rd of April, a member of scientific-study group “Applied GIS in Humanities” Aleksandr Korobeinikov participated at XXVIII International scientific conference of  source studies and historiography of Africa and Asia with the report “Alash: modern perspectives of the development of the research field”.

Constructing the Soviet?

On Friday April 17 the members of the scientific and educational group "Applied GIS in Humanities" Zimina Maria, Korobeynikov Alexander and Kuchinsky Alexander made a presentation at the conference "Constructing the Soviet?" that called: "The Dynamics of Visual Image of Central Asia in the Context of the Transition from the Russian Empire to the Soviet Union, 1871-1940".
