XXVIII International scientific conference of source studies and historiography of Africa and Asia "Africa and Asia in the changing world"

On 23rd of April, a member of scientific-study group “Applied GIS in Humanities” Aleksandr Korobeinikov participated at XXVIII International scientific conference of  source studies and historiography of Africa and Asia with the report “Alash: modern perspectives of the development of the research field”.

This report was dedicated to combining and analyzing of historiographic base about Alash. Basing on collected material the reporter illustrated the main tendencies in this subject: incorporating case of Alash into national narrative, absence of sufficient number of works which use modern theoretical and methodological base. Considering this, Aleksandr suggested new ways of studying this case. So, the new ideas about making this particular case wider were put. Besides, the reporter looked at the borders of appliance of such theoretical concepts as nationalism, federalism, visual studies etc. to Alash case. The main conclusion was the statement of question- in which direction should this subject be developed. From national to global perspective said the author.
