Historical Geography of Russia: Retrospective and Modernity of Complex Regional Research

On the 19th of May was held the V International Conference “Historical Geography of Russia: Retrospective and Modernity of Complex Regional Research” in section “Regional Historical Geography”.

The head of scientific-study group Ivan Sablin participated with the report “Post-representative modeling: a social and political history of Sino-Russian borderlands 1911-1924”.In this section member of this group Kuchinskiy Aleksandr, Korobeynikov Aleksandr and Zimina Maria also participated with the report called “Photo in space: visual discourse and power in Central Asia 1971-1940”. 
These reports were dedicated to applying GIS to historical research. So the students report described how we can use GIS for measuring photo-sources on the example of Middle Asia. The report of Ivan Sablin was about mapping the Sino-Russian borderlands.
