40%
of residents of the Far Eastern Federal District would like to leave their region of residence.
The Far Eastern Federal District is the only district in Russia that has seen a steady and continuous decline in population since 1990. The only regions in the district where this negative trend was interrupted were Yakutia and Chukotka in 2005-2006, and Primorsky Krai in 2012.
Overall, from 1990 to 2013, the population in the Far Eastern Federal District decreased by 1,810,000 people.
