lectures will be delivered by instructors from the HSE in Gorky Park before the end of the summer. 

The HSE lectures at the Pioneer Open-Air Cinema in Gorky Park take place every Thursday starting at 7:00pm.

This coming Thursday, August 7, will feature Irina Bazileva of the HSE’s Higher School of Marketing and Business Development, who will speak on how ordinary people can influence service.

The following lectures will also take place in the open air before the end of the season:

‘Sociology of Emotions Today: A Social and Historical Sense of Shame’ (by Olga Simonova, Associate Professor, Department of General Sociology, Faculty of Sociology)

‘Creative and Cultural Industries and their Importance for Economics’ (by Iliya Kiriya, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Media Communications and Head of the Laboratory of Media Research)

‘Popular Music and Other Subjects of Entertainment: How We Study Contemporary Culture’ (by Natalia Samutina, Associate Professor of the Analysis of Social Institutions Department, Faculty of Sociology)

The subject of the lecture by Professor Aleksey Maslov, Head of the School of Asian Studies, is still being determined.

The first lectures in the HSE summer lecture series took place in Gorky Park in May 2013. Over the past two years, 27 lectures have been delivered.
