The organisers announced the finalists of the International Video Competition 'WOWMOSCOW' held by the Moscow City Tourism Committee and HSE Art and Design School in the framework of the festival and forum 'Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030'.
The video competition 'WOWMOSCOW ' continued the collaborations with international partners started by HSE University-St Petersburg. To participate in the competition, the contestants had to create a film about a city or any other place and attach it to their application. There were no limits in concepts: one could offer a documentary, game or animated films as well as promo videos, video research and vlogs.
The contest received 294 projects by participants from 12 countries. The finalists came to Moscow on August 10 to attend a film workshop and cultural and educational programme. During the presentation to the international jury, the contestants will showcase the ideas of their future films reasoning out the chosen genre, locations and general concept.
The finalist became Takha Audyarahma, a student of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Indonesia, with her project 'distant memory of a city'. ITS is one of the partners of HSE University-St Petersburg. At ITS venue, HSE University-St Petersburg has already opened its representative office.
In her work, the finalist showed how dynamic and different the city of Surabaya, to which the video is devoted, can be.
Mitya Kharshak, Dean of HSE University-St Petersburg Art and Design School
The collaboration of HSE University-St Petersburg Art and Design School with the competition and its significant role in organising 'WOWMOSCOW' are impossible to imagine without constant painstaking work on expanding the circle of our international partners and establishing creative and research ties between professors and students in various countries. Such large projects, in which we can now involve participants from Brazil, China, Turkey and other countries, introduce our partners to our know-how in the sphere of design training. Via competitions and joint projects, we move towards promoting our educational products and raising the standards of professional education in the whole world. In the near future, we plan to develop partnerships with the leading universities in India, Southeast Asia and Latin America. We have already set and are actively discussing a big joint project with one of the leading universities in Indonesia. We strive to make our students open to the world, gain significant international experience and perceived the best creative practices of other cultures. And of course, share their experience received at HSE University Art and Design School.
The international jury will name the winner on August 15, 2024. The winner will be able to make a short-length film about Moscow.
