HSE University-St Petersburg Represents Russia at Istanbul Education Summit EURIE 2024
HSE University-St Petersburg represented Russia at the annual higher education summit EURIE 2024 in Istanbul.
During the days of the event, in the framework of the campus tour, the delegation from HSE University-St Petersburg visited the Istanbul Technical University with which they plan to sign an agreement on student exchange and the Boğaziçi University, its long-standing partner. A substantive interest in cooperation with HSE University was evinced by the Eastern Mediterranean University (the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), the Üsküdar University and the Altinbas University.
Following up on successfully implemented joint projects with HSE, leading Turkish universities are keen on cooperating in joint programmes in the spheres of economics, sociology, political science, design and media communications. Since 2023, together with the Marmara University and the Istanbul Aydin University, HSE has been implementing joint programmes and actively organising summer schools.

EURIE 2024 also gathered other partners of HSE University-St Petersburg: the Koç University, the Sabanci University, the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan). Students of HSE University-St Petersburg are actively participating in mobility programmes with these universities as well as in the activities of a mirror laboratory in the sphere of social entrepreneurship at UTM.
The summit was also attended by 'International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities' (GCUB) which represents 101 Brazilian universities and is a potential partner of HSE University in Latin America.
EURIE summit is an academic environment which helps to establish and enhance partnerships among global higher education institutions. Annually, the summit gathers up to two thousand experts in the sphere of higher education.
In 2024, there were university representatives from Turkey, Malaysia, Belarus, Italy, Brazil, Pakistan and lots of other countries. The event was also attended by delegations from universities of Indonesia—one of HSE’s key partners.
