HSE University Strengthens Cooperation with Indian Universities
The development of communications is one of the topics of the annual global summit AICGS-2023 (Annual International Conference and Global Summit) which started on October 30 in Phagwara, India and welcomed HSE University as a participant.
This year, the key topics for discussion at the summit, which is being held at the campus of Lovely Professional University (LPU) in the state of Punjab, were a new model of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development and the prospects and global challenges faced by universities in the development of international relations.
Among the main participants of the event were students of the Bachelor's programme 'Media Communications' and the Master's programme 'Media Production and Media Analysis' at HSE University-St Petersburg, who are undertaking an internship at LPU from October 28 to November 9, 2023. The main goal of the internship is to exchange knowledge and experience in the spheres of media and education. The result of the project will be a documentary about India which HSE students will create together with LPU students.
The summit gathered leading universities of Russia (HSE University, ITMO), the USA (Virginia Commonwealth University), the UK (Manchester Metropolitan University), Australia (the University of Wollongong), France, and South Korea. Overall, delegations from 12 countries will attend the event.
In addition to the panel discussion, Lovely Professional University, which is a partner of HSE University, has organised guest lectures, talks with exchange students, and various events to immerse guests in India's culture and customs. The university also planned individual meetings with the deans of sociology, design, management and business departments.
Director of HSE University-St Petersburg
'For HSE University and me in particular, it is not the first visit to India. Every time, our Indian colleagues open up new opportunities for cooperation with us. For example, students of HSE University-St Petersburg are taking part in a unique project organised by LPU: filming a documentary about India and its customs, student life, and education system. Today, the international university community realises that cooperation is not measured in terms of the number of exchange students, but rather is formed by the development of live communication between people, which leads to such unique projects'.
During the trip, the Russian delegation will also visit the Indian Institute of Management Indore, Delhi University, and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women.
