Qatari Ambassador Ahmed Al Thani Visits HSE University
During the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, HSE University-St Petersburg hosted Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jasim Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to the Russian Federation.
In the building on Griboyedova Canal Embankment, the ambassador and an international delegation participated in the opening ceremony of 'Corner of Qatar'—a space for students, the interior of which was provided by the Qatari guests as a present. The furniture, which is now located on the fifth floor of the building, was part of the Qatari exhibition stand at SPIEF 2021.
For the opening ceremony, 'Corner of Qatar' was decorated with linocuts by students of the Design School from the mobile exhibition 'First Printing'.
Ahmed Al Thani remarked on the positive progress made in the relations between Qatar and the Russian Federation in many areas. He also expressed an interest in cooperating with HSE University-St Petersburg on research projects and the development of joint educational programmes.

A visit by such an honourable guest as Ahmed Al Thani to our university opens up a wide range of opportunities for cooperation in education and science. At the same time, it sets a specific task: to support the initiative of the Qatari delegation and offer options for integrating Qatari scientists and students into the system of HSE University.
