High School Students from Estonia Get to Know HSE Campus in St Petersburg
On May 14, HSE University – St Petersburg welcomed a group of students from Tallinn Linnamae Russian Lyceum. Their visit took place within the framework of the ‘Day of Universities’ organised by the administration of the Lyceum to acquaint students with the leading universities of St Petersburg.
Thirty-five high school students, accompanied by Svetlana Jantsis, Deputy head teacher of the Lyceum, participated in the programme organised by the HSE University – St Petersburg. The International Office arranged for guests a tour of the University’s building, located in the centre of St Petersburg, on Griboyedov Сanal Embankment, and held a presentation of undergraduate programmes.
During their visit, the high school students had an opportunity to feel like real university students―Sergey Kokovin, Professor of the St Petersburg School of Economics and Management, gave them a short lecture, spoke about the economics profession, and offered the guys to solve some challenging mathematical problems.
HSE University – St Petersburg University and Tallinn Linnamae Russian Lyceum plan to further cooperation, including organising a number of open lectures and conducting joint projects.
By now, there are nine students from Estonia studying at the campus.
