Online meeting of the HSE University students with students of Hainan University (the PRC)

The HSE University is constantly expanding the range of partner universities, and the HSE Chinese Club (St. Petersburg) tries to interact with Chinese universities and organizes various student events. It is very important not only to learn Chinese language, but also to learn more about China as a country.

On June 12, within the framework of the HSE Chinese Club, between the HSE students and students of Hainan University (PRC) was held online meeting in a friendly atmosphere. The HSE University and Hainan University are just beginning to cooperate, so students from both universities were interested to learn more about each other. By agreement, Russian students prepared a presentation in Chinese, and Chinese - in Russian language.

Students of both universities told many interesting stories: the members of the HSE Chinese Club talked about their favorite places in St. Petersburg, about White Nights, as well as about events that take place in our city, for example, the festival of graduates of  “Alie Parusa” (Scarlet Sails). The members of the Chinese Club were happy to talk about the weather in St. Petersburg, about snowy winters and hot summers, showed photographs of the main attractions that are worth visiting in our city and its environs. The Club members also prepared a funny quiz for Chinese students, tried to explain to them what the expression "smelt went" means.

Chinese students prepared an interesting presentation about Hainan Province, about study and student life at Hainan University, as well as information about the Institute of Foreign Languages. It was interesting to know that the weather on Hainan does not drop below 8 degrees, even in the coldest month, and shopping lovers can enjoy their shopping without taxes there.

Chinese students elaborated on the history of Hainan University, which boasts a vast area of 5,050 acres and three campuses in Haidian, Chengxi and Danzhou. Students willingly shared their impressions of the conditions of study and living at Hainan University. It is very important to develop communication between students and we look forward to seeing next!
