Course Syllabus

Abstract

The aim of the course is to advanced student’s analytical skills and to introduce them with basic analytical instruments – BI platforms. Quantitative methods play significant role not only in academic research but also in various forms of business activities. This trend causes a rising role of data flow understanding and all data-related skills. Course emphases several of them such as data processing, visualization and interpretation.

  • The introduction & the role of data analysis (DA). Data analysis itself: data lifecycle, analysis types and instruments.
  • Power BI – as a representative of BI-products. Data processing using Power query and M-language.
  • Models of data, data relationships & Introducing to DAX language
  • Core principles of data models using

  • The full research cycle & roads from idea to presentation
