In November 2023, a representative office of HSE University opened in Indonesia. This new educational hub is designed to help students from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) who are planning to study in Russia. The representative office is based at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in the city of Surabaya. The office is headed by Bima Yatna Anugerah Ramadhani, HSE University-St Petersburg graduate of the Master’s programme ‘Management and Analytics for Business’. In the interview, Bima Ramadhani reflects on his studies at HSE campus in St Petersburg, talks about his work at the State University of Surabaya and elaborates on the further activities of the HSE University representative office.

Academic mobility is an amazing opportunity not only to study abroad but also explore another country. Anastasia Kuprishkina, graduate of the Bachelor’s programme ‘Political Science and World Politics’, had a chance to go to Thammasat University and experience life in Thailand. Carlos J. Rincon already had an eventful career before he ended up studying and teaching at HSE University-St Petersburg. The professor was born in Colombia and worked in his native country and the USA in the financial sector before starting his academic career. Not wanting to rest on his laurels, Carlos enrolled in the Master’s programme ‘Finance’ at HSE University-St Petersburg, where he has been studying and teaching since 2019. Ilya Nelyubov is a 2022 graduate of the Bachelor’s programme 'Political Science and World Politics'. He shared his story beginning with the admissions to Political Science and ending with the double degree programme and the Master's programme at the University of Bologna.

Alina Kamanina is a graduate of the Bachelor's Programme 'Sociology and Social Informatics' at HSE University – Saint Petersburg. She has been working as a game analyst in 'G5 Entertainment AB' company for two years. We talked to the graduate about how she entered the game industry, what criteria she used to choose a university and why critical thinking is the main university skill, in her opinion.

In 2022 the first graduates of double-degree track with the partner university were three students of master's programme 'Business and Politics in Modern Asia' in HSE University – Saint Petersburg and three students of master's programme 'Language and Management to China' in Ca' Foscari University (Venice, Italy). The graduates from Italy Chiara Pizzuto, Valentina Pavan and Sara Moretto shared their impressions on their studies in Russia.

Upon finishing undergraduate and graduate programmes in Political Science (2014, 2016), Sofia Glazunova went to study in a PhD programme in Australia. Now Sofia is a research fellow at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), lecturer, and the author of the book I'm Going to Live in Brisbane, dedicated to her experience of moving to Australia and myths about studying abroad.
