The program of the state final certification 2024:

Valid reasons for not appearing at the state certification test:

DISEASE

The disease must be confirmed by a medical certificate of the established form

A medical certificate must be presented to the study office on the day on which it is indicated to start classes

OTHER EXCEPTIONAL REASONS

Other exceptional reasons that objectively prevented the student from appearing for the state attestation test include:

o an individual curriculum of a student who has postponed the preparation and (or) defense of the bachelor’s thesis for the next academic year;

o illness or death of close relatives;

o performance of public / state duties;

o subpoena to law enforcement/court;

o force majeure circumstances, including of technical problems during the state certification test.

Valid reasons do not include the absence of a student caused by circumstances related to the student's work.

The decision to recognize the reason for the absence as valid is made by the dean of the faculty in agreement with the academic director of the educational program.

Graduation with distinction ("red diploma")

Degree certificates with distinction ("red diplomas") are awarded to students who have received an excellent grade for the master's thesis defence and have only good and excellent (no less than 75 % of the total) grades for all courses, internships, projects listed in the diploma supplement. In accordance with the Regulations for Interim and Ongoing Assessments at HSE University, the retake of a positive assessment (a 4 and higher) is not allowed.

If students have completed optional courses, they can remove these courses from their diploma supplements when approving the draft supplements via their personal account (ELK), "Completion of studies" service.
