Your student ID card…
- an official document certifying that you are a HSE student;
- gives students the opportunity to apply for a transport card (also known as ‘social card’) that offers a significant discount on public transportation;
- offers free admission into some museums, theatres and zoos. In addition, several cinemas, clubs, and exhibition centers;
- provides discounts to student ID holders (allows for discounted purchase of railway tickets).
You can receive access to remote HSE electronic resources by filling out an online form on the library page http://library.hse.ru/e-resources/e-resources.htm.
After filling out the form, you will receive an auto-reply with a login and password. Next you will need to confirm your email with the library staff.

When you receive your student ID card, you can apply for a transport card (also known as ‘social’ card or ‘metro’ card). An application form will be filled in and ready for you during first weeks. Then you should take it to the cashier at one of the St. Petersburg metro stations.
Student transport card…
includes 100 metro trips during one month and unlimited amount of trips by all kinds of public transport. Every month you should put 1035 RUB on your card at metro station.
The HSE provides all exchange students with a university e-mail address (automatically generated). To enter your e-mail box please visit edumail.hse.ru.
Login : first letter of your name + your email@example.com.
Password : Edu + number of your student ID card (no dots, slashes, etc.).
Learning Management System (LMS) is the HSE’s educational space that connects instructors with their students.
You can enter the LMS at lms.hse.ru.
Login : your university e-mail address
Password : Edu + the number of your student ID card (no dots, slashes, etc.).
In your personal LMS account, you will only see courses for which you are registered.
