HSE St Petersburg in RePEc’s Top 3

HSE St Petersburg is in the Top 3 best Economics Institutions in Russia.

According to RePec’s April rankings, HSE St Petersburg comes third on the list of the best Economics Institutions in Russia and is in the top 10% of Economics Institutions worldwide. Several HSE departments were recognized by this ranking. The Centre for Market Studies and Spatial Economics and the Faculty of Economics in Moscow are in the top 10% and HSE itself is ranked first in Russia and 151st globally. HSE is in the 5% of best institutions in the world in the field of Economics.

The only other Russian HEI listed in this prestigious global ranking is the Russian Economic School (2nd in Russia and 257th in the world).

The aim of the RePEc international project is to create an information space for the entire economics research community. RePEc’s database is the largest collection of academic research publications on economics and includes bibliographic descriptions of publications, articles, books and other information resources.

The presence of a broad range of researchers in peer-reviewed, highly-rated English language academic publications on economics, and an interest in them from colleagues abroad, underscores the high level of engagement of academic researchers at HSE in the international research agenda.

HSE’s high position in the RePEc rankings shows that the work of  our economists is more and more in demand and students have the opportunity to study with the best teachers in the profession who are up to date with all the latest research developments. Students can also join in research work, make international contacts, develop skills to improve their personal ratings in the eyes of potential employers.

Background

RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is an online project, dedicated to systematising research work in economics. It’s the fruit of the combined efforts of hundreds of academic volunteers and research organisations from more than 70 countries, who want to increase access to academic research results in the field of economics. The basic project is a decentralised database of preprints, articles, books (chapters) and software. Most of RePEc’s materials are in the public domain. 861 Russian authors are represented, affiliated to 114 academic institutions.

One of the aims of RePEc is to develop communication between researchers, so besides looking up an author’s contact information there are features which allow them to leave comments which can be read by all users.
