Nomination Process for 2019 Golden HSE Awards Kicks Off

Applications are now open for Golden HSE, the main university’s awards.

This prize is awarded to teachers, staff, graduates, students and Lyceum students for success and a proactive attitude to their profession, research, and studies. The candidates are nominated and chosen by students and staff.

Applications will be accepted via the competition website until October 29 only. Don’t delay, nominate your candidates!

Below we share some information on changes to this year’s competition, ways to nominate your candidate, the categories and the voting process.

What’s New this Year

The main innovations are in the appointment of the jury and the competition committee. Previously, faculty and campus juries were nominated by the Dean, and the Rector appointed the committee chairs. Now members are elected at faculty and campus Academic Councils (Teachers’ Council in the Lyceum). The committees are elected by the jury members out of the jury members.

How to Nominate a Candidate

Step one: Choose your candidates. Don’t worry if you have chosen a lot of people – there's no limit to the number of candidates you can nominate.

Step two: If you are an HSE staff member or an HSE student, gather a group of at least three peers who will nominate a candidate, or coordinate the nomination with the head of your unit so that you can nominate a candidate by the entire subdivision. HSE student organizations also can nominate candidates.

Candidates for the ‘Silver Nestling’ category should be nominated by groups of at least three HSE faculty members of HSE University, HSE Lyceum, or cross-school HSE Lyceum.

Self-nomination is not permitted in any category. Last year's winners of the Golden HSE award cannot be nominated in the same category again, and jury members cannot be nominated.

Please see the contest regulations for more details.

Step three: submit the nomination on the award website.

Go to the website. Look who else was nominated for the award in other categories. Feel free to add your comments.

While the number of comments is not taken into account when determining the nominees and winners, the Jury will have more information to make a decision, and the candidates will be pleased to see feedback.

The Vote

The vote for candidates in all categories, except for the Silver Nestling, will take place in two stages:

First Stage: online vote by the Jury.

Second Stage: on-site vote by the Committee.

‘Silver Nestlings’ will be selected in one stage as a result of a Jury vote.

The nomination process on the website is open from October 9th until 29th

The Golden HSE awarding ceremony will take place on November 27th at the renovated Cultural Centre hall on Pokrovsky Boulevard.
