HSE Saint Petersburg Opens a Double Degree Programme in Asian Studies with Ca' Foscari University of Venice!
The agreement on the development of a double degree programme between the HSE master's programme 'Business and Politics in Modern Asia' and the University of Ca’ Foscari Master's programme in 'Language and Management in China' is successfully signed.
The implementation of the double degree programme will begin in the 2020-2021 academic year. For students enrolled in academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, the itinerary of education will be as follows. During the first year, the students study at home universities (Russian students in the HSE, Italian students in the Ca’ Foscari University). The second year is planned for mobility to the partner university. Beginning from the 2022/2023 academic year, the scheme of study will change: Russian students will start their first year at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and Italian students - at the HSE St. Petersburg. The students will return to their home universities to complete their studies and defend their theses in the second year. As a result, graduates will receive diplomas from both universities.
The programme will be interesting for the sinologists who would like to deepen and expand their knowledge of China. It will be useful for those who would like to gain expert knowledge of China for further work.
The master's programme is taught entirely in English, so students from different countries that meet both the HSE and the Ca’ Foscari University requirements will be able to enroll. The students have to speak English at a sufficient level (approved with international certificates or as native), and must be proficient in Chinese as well (confirmed by the HSK 4 certificate or by passing a test provided by the home university).
The students that will study at a joint program will have an opportunity to get the most relevant knowledge about China from the best experts working in Italy and Russia.
Even though our programme was launched recently, we try to develop actively and look for more opportunities for our students to expand their knowledge and gain additional experience. The double degree programme with Ca’ Foscari University is a unique chance for students-sinologists to get experience in international communication and study in different institution. We are sure that it helps our graduates to become even more competitive in the international labor market.
