Course Syllabus

Abstract

The course gives students the general information about the project management. The aim of the course is to develop skills in the field of project management and to provide students with knowledge necessary for the implementation of the project in commercial and non-profit sector.

  • Students learn to manage projects using special programs

  • To understand the stages of the project cycle

  • To be able to use different tools for the design-thinking and problem-solving
  • To be able to monitor project activities and assess progres
  • To be able to estimate the necessary resources for the project and their costs
  • To be able to organize effective teamwork with task, velocity and performance tracking based on PMBOK, Agile, Scrum

Assessment Elements

Assessment Elements

  • non-blocking Exam
    Written examination with three questions. Time for the answer is 30 minutes
  • non-blocking Student's participation in the educational project
    The teams complete project tasks in the interval between seminars (project increment) and present the results of the work during the next seminar (5 increments in total).
  • non-blocking In class activity
    All students of the group are divided into project teams consisting of no more than 6 people. The project teams have the same composition throughout the course. Teams complete tasks in the interval before each seminar (project increment) and present the results of the work in the interval during the seminar.

    0.4 * Exam + 0.2 * In class activity + 0.4 * Student's participation in the educational project
