On 4 December 2016, students on the course “St Petersburg and the Silver Screen” visited the Lenfilm Studio to get a behind-the-scenes view of filmmaking in Russia’s cultural capital. Students were shown a selection of costumes from classic Soviet films made at Lenfilm, along with a temporary exhibition dedicated to Igor Maslennikov, director of the celebrated Russian adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. Students visited a soundstage which had recently been used for filming “Stalin’s Daughter”, and were shown a number of vintage cars from the Studio’s collection.”
